Lagoon's New Nutcracker Ride Draws Massive Opening Day Crowds

Lagoon Amusement Park kicked off its 2026 season with a bang — literally. The Nutcracker, a new S&S Screamin' Swing ride, opened on March 26 to massive crowds and immediate acclaim from thrill-seekers.

The ride swings passengers in a giant pendulum motion, reaching speeds exceeding 60 mph and heights of over 80 feet. It's the latest addition to Lagoon's impressive ride lineup and represents a continued investment in keeping Utah's largest amusement park fresh and exciting.

"It's the best new ride Lagoon has added in years," said frequent visitor and Farmington resident Mike Torres. "The hang time at the top is incredible. My kids are already begging to go back."

Lagoon's 2026 season marks the park's 140th year of operation — a remarkable run for an amusement park that has been a Farmington landmark since 1886. Season Passports start at $210.95, with the Lagoon-A-Beach waterpark opening for the summer season.
