Two Major Parks Opening This Summer Will Transform Farmington's West Side

North Cottonwood Commons Park and Ivy Acres Park represent a combined $12.5M investment in green space, splash pads, and family recreation.

Farmington families have two big reasons to celebrate this summer: North Cottonwood Commons Park is set for a Memorial Day splash pad grand opening, and the 10-acre Ivy Acres Park will follow later in the summer with one of Davis County's largest splash pads.

The projects represent a combined investment of approximately $12.5 million in new recreational facilities, primarily serving the growing west side of the city. North Cottonwood Commons Park will feature playground equipment, pavilions, open green space, and the highly anticipated splash pad that has been the talk of local parent groups.

Ivy Acres Park is the bigger of the two projects at 10 acres, designed as a destination park with extensive water features, walking trails, and picnic areas. City planners say the park addresses a long-standing need for more recreational options west of I-15.

"These parks are about quality of life," said Farmington City Parks Director Tom Reynolds. "As our city grows, we need to make sure every neighborhood has access to great outdoor spaces. These two parks do exactly that."

The city has also launched a new Mobile Trails App that maps all of Farmington's hiking trails, parks, and recreational facilities — making it easier than ever for residents and visitors to explore the outdoors.
